About the Route66 Takeouts Directory

This is a unique website designed to help you find all the wonderful local takeout places along Route 66 whether you’re traveling or just staying in town. We want to do our part to help local restaurants get noticed along Route 66 and we want you, the travelers, along Route 66 to know some of the great local places, big and small, on the Mother Road.

Especially during these difficult economic times, we want to be a solution that will help restaurants make the most from their situation. Over and over, we hear how it’s hard for people to find what they want.

Additionally, when traveling, it’s not always easy to find local places that show you the essence of local flavors. As a melting pot, we have people from all ethnic backgrounds sprinkled throughout our country. Route 66 is the last bastion of the free and open American society.

Pure and true Americana never looks at your background to define how you feel or where you can go. Instead, Route 66 has been shining the lights of what we call pure Americana, the open road, freedom, exploration, and adventure.

We believe that there is a broken contract to these ideals and the establishment of foreign institutions taking a foothold in American society which has brought us such disrepair.

We have now arisen to a new era. An era where disconnectedness is being restored with better transportation and communication. For the longest of times, food and community, which makes us human, has been discarded like an old newspaper.

The essence of this restoration project has been designed to bring back the artery of the American heartland.
